Matt Scott
Sport: Wheelchair Basketball

Matthew David Scott is a 21 year old junior at UW-Whitewater in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Matthew was born in Detroit, Michigan and has lived in Michigan most of his life. Born with Spina Bifida, a common birth defect, he began playing wheelchair basketball at age 14.
At age 18, he was named to the USA men’s national team, the 2004 Paralympic team and became a War Hawk at the University of Wisconsin. While on the wheelchair basketball team at UW-Whitewater, Mathew has been a part of two championships teams and was named Most Valuable Player at the 2005 Junior World Championship tournament winning a gold medal. This past summer, Mathew competed in the 2006 world championships with the men’s national team and won a silver medal.
Matthew is currently a member of the UW-Whitewater wheelchair basketball team and a member of the USA Men’s Wheelchair basketball team.
