Kelly Crowley

Kelly is a life-long resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, having grown up in Menlo Park. Kelly graduated from Santa Clara University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and was the valedictorian of her class. She also has earned a Master’s in Public Administration from Indiana University.
Since returning to competitive swimming in August 2001, Kelly has collected 17 national titles and numerous American records, at one point simultaneously holding the records in all the freestyle events. At the 2002, IPC Swimming World Championships she won one silver and two bronze medals. In 2003, she was the only American Paralympic swimmer to be invited to the FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain where she finished 2nd and set a new American record in the 100m Freestyle. In addition, Kelly has set two World Records--in the 200 Freestyle and the 400 Individual Medley.
In the 2004 Summer Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece, Kelly swam 5 individual events, her best finishes being 4th place in the 50m and 100m freestyle events. In Athens, she also swam in the 4x100m Freestyle and Medley Relays, both of which won the gold medal.
Kelly is currently training in cycling and is in good position to make the 2008 Paralympic Team and compete in Beijing, China. At the 2007 IPC Cycling World Championships, Kelly won the gold medal in the Road Time Trial and the bronze in the Road Race. At the 2007 US Paralympics Road Cycling National Championships, Kelly won the gold in the Road Race and the bronze in the Road Time Trial.
Kelly currently works part-time for the San Mateo County Parks & Recreation Foundation. Kelly is also establishing Victory Sports Foundation, which supports San Francisco Bay Area athletes with disabilities who are in pursuit of success both on and off the field of play.
Kelly works closely with The Hartford, founding sponsor of U.S. Paralympics®, helping to positively change public attitudes and perceptions about disability.
