Jeremy Campbell
Sport: Wheelchair Basketball
Residence: Birmingham, AL
Since Campbell started playing wheelchair basketball at the age of 12, success has always been close behind. Born with Spina Bifida, Campbell has followed wheelchair basketball from his younger days in the National Junior Wheelchair Basketball Tournament (NJWBT) to his college ties in Wisconsin to now being a member of the U.S. Wheelchair National Team.
Along the way, Campbell has served as team captain for one or more years for the USA Under-23 Team, his college team: the Whitewater Warhawks, the USA Under-19 Team and the Lakeshore Lakers, his NJWBT team.
Campbell is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he is a human performance major. When Campbell is not on the basketball court, he enjoys hanging out with his friends, watching the Dallas Cowboys and listening to his favorite band, O.A.R. Campbell’s focus now is training in order to make the 2008 Paralympic wheelchair basketball team and compete at the Beijing Paralympic Games.
Working with U.S. Paralympics® founding sponsor, The Hartford, Jeremy is helping to raise public awareness of what people with a physical disability can achieve in all aspects of life.
