Life Products for Employers
Basic financial protection for families, Group Life is available for employees, spouses, dependent children, and retirees. Employers can choose plan designs, coverage amounts, and other details.
During enrollment periods, all plans offer levels of coverage that are "guaranteed" without having to show proof of good health or a medical exam.

- Financial Planning Services for beneficiaries
- Beneficiary Assist®
A claim service is included with all
life and accident plan that combines grief,
financial and legal counseling. Services are
available to:
- The beneficiaries of an insured person who dies;
- Insured people who qualify for an accelerated benefit from a group life insurance plan
- Insured people who qualify for benefits from a group accident policy because of severe accidental injury
- Living Benefit Option employees who become terminally ill can receive a portion of their life insurance benefits to help cover the cost of living with a serious illness
- Safe Haven® Accounts death benefits are paid to interest-bearing checking accounts set up in beneficiaries' names
- Travel Assistance Program - provides emergency medical assistance and other travel services
More features that add protection:
- Portability employees can take their coverage (and their families') with them if they change jobs
- Waiver of Premium employees who become totally disabled pay no premiums for their Group Life coverage, with various waiver options available if the disability occurs on or after age 60
Exclusions and benefit reductions:
- Death by suicide is covered only after an individual has been insured for two years by The Hartford's life insurance policy
- Benefit amounts will be reduced at certain ages. Ask for details about benefit reductions when considering any life insurance policy
